About

SteveIn 2016 I began teaching fly fishing classes at Dartmouth College (FLIP). This comprehensive, credit program is open to students, employees, and the public. Casting instruction is held on the Green, indoors at Reed Hall, and fishing at the Meccawe Club in Bridgewater,VT. The “Steve Rowe Adult Trout Camp” has been running for several years. It is based at the historic Meccawe Trout Club, in Bridgewater, Vermont. This popular program is an all day comprehensive fly casting and fly fishing program.

I am a third generation New England fly fisherman. For the past three seasons I headed up the Orvis-endorsed Fly Fishing Program at the Woodstock Inn in Vermont. Prior to that I was lead fly casting instructor at L.L.Bean in West Lebanon, NH. I have conducted classes at the N.H. Outdoor Learning Center, New London Hospital, and OSHER.  After achieving the  International Federation of Fly Fisher (IFFF) Certified Casting Instructor status in 2011 I formed my own business.  After graduating from the University of New Hampshire, I pursued graduate work at California State and Northeastern in special education and administration. Teaching and fishing are two skill sets I bring to my business. But my passion is to share my joy for this sport.
